My new to me 1999 Miata

An introduction to my new car! After selling my 1984 AE86 Toyota Corolla purpose build drifting car I was looking for something that would make a fun car to street drive as well as something I could have fun doing some Autox's and lapping days with.

On to it!
With some help from my pal Chris we set off last Saturday morning to northern Iowa pick up the car! after loading up my Scion XB with spare parts and set on our way back to the MPLS area. Was great to take the scenic bi-way and driving with the top down 100+ miles back home!

Now that the car is back home I have done a little more inspecting on the car, checking out the parts and overall condition of the car.

The car is originally from Colorado , it has some cool heratage stickers on it, was it maybe raced at Laguna Seca at some point? not sure, I will have to do some more digging :)

The car is equipped with a full Racing Beat exhaust from the manifold back that gives the car a great sound without being too loud

The interior is overall in great shape, looks like the wheel and seats have aftermarket covers on them, but will be replacing the wheel with an aftermarket Nardi wheel and a Momo Start racing seat.

Wheels and tires, I have always been a fan of Kosei k1 wheels, kinda a bonus that this car came with them. There are decent tires (BFG G-Force Sport Comp-2)  that should last me a few track days before they will need to be replaced

Under the hood there is a Koyo Radiator to keep the car cool, a strut tower bar and an AEM intake.

A nice little surprise when I looked under the car, some Flying Miata frame rail brace.

That sums up whats in the car now, so with some maintenance, and some more street miles I look forward to maybe squeezing an autoX or DCTC day in this year!

Stay tuned as I will be updating this blog as well as my social media pages as I continue to work on the car and develop it into a competitive track car as well as a street car.
